thoughts about the future

I love kimono. there are so many things you can do with them, they fit easily, you don't even have to take off wigs to put them on.... but I really should start expanding.
so, with the new year starts new patterns to add to commission choices. to be honest, I hate most western clothing. they're plain, or skimpy, etc... and while the occasional suit or uniform is nice... it just doesn't do much for me.
so, what I plan to explore are three new areas. traditional chinese clothing, both the Han and the Manchurian era versions. these are relatively easy to fit to dolls, and allow for alot of variations ind decoration and will still work well with the recycled kimonos I use.
korean clothing has been requested, and I think it's a good idea. I have alot of references for it at least. I might make the the top a little bit longer the the modern taste tho. XD.
and ballet costumes! with the flat pancake tutus and the long flowing ones... they will be harder to fit, but I'm good with bodices/corsets and should be pretty. I might not do these as commission tho.
lastly... I might start selling doll sweaters and such. I'm very good as a knitter, and mini-sized sweaters should only take 5-10 hours. however, I'm reluctant to knit for commission because of the amount of time... but I'll try selling them on my (empty) etsy store. we'll see how the shop in Cleveland likes my samples.

meanwhile, attempts at making my own BJD are going forward. it's been painted a very pale peach color and looks hidiously shiny. but monday I'll spray it with sealant and keep working on making it look more life like.

that's it for now!
